Hi, my name is Silke Willemijn Franken. I am a user experience (UX) researcher, interface designer and illustrator based in Villach, Austria. Originally from the Netherlands, I moved to the mountains after completing my master’s in Human Technology Interaction. During this program I enjoyed learning how to integrate my obtained knowledge of psychology into technical design solutions that truly work for people.
 
Alongside my academic work, I have always been creating — drawing, painting, designing. This passion for aesthetics naturally flows into all my work, as I believe beautiful design is an essential part of the user experience. Above all, however, I aim to create products that are responsive, tailored to both the user’s and client’s needs and accessible for all.
 
When I am not designing or illustrating, you can find me in the mountains — my happy place. I love hiking, climbing, or simply spending time outside with a sketchbook or my favourite book. I believe that in nature you can find inspiration for anything, and we should treasure it as much as we can ✿.
